This is made possible with innovative NIC (New Insulation Concept) construction that features a layered combination of the two kinds of insulation. Rather than mixing the insulations, they are actually layered with the down in channeled construction on the inside and the synthetic insulation on the outside to reduce the number of seams and provide the best protection from the elements. Next to body, the user experiences the light, airy, dry warmth of down while the PrimaLoft® Black Rise insulation on the exterior provides a shield from harsh weather and humid conditions. Insulation is also reduced in areas to help regulate body temperature while on the move with the inner down insulation layer removed on the inner sleeves, waist and hood.
